Nothing made sense!

I remembered back to when I had just left college and how I wanted to join the QA's.(Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps) I went to the Army Recruitment Agency and sat a entrance exam but unfortunately failed the test. At the time I didn't question why I hadn't got into the Army, only that I was disappointed. Thinking back now, if I had got into the Army, I wouldn't have had the motorbike crash which changed my life. It does make you wonder about why things happen the way they do.
I was living with a partner, worked in a hospital and had a normal life. I regularly went out socially with my friends. Life was good.
As the weeks went on after the accident, I noticed that my jaw was becoming stiff and had difficulty moving it. When I had the accident, I was wearing a crash-helmet. I had no bruising or injury on my face. I told my partner what I had noticed. Then slowly my jaw started to locking -up. I decided to go to the accident and emergency  hospital and check it out. To my shock and surprise the medical person I saw didn't believe a word of what I was saying. She said that it was impossible and that I was wasting her time. She wouldn't listen to me and said that it would be better for me to go to the dental hospital for a second opinion.
However, our paths did cross again later on down the road...
Within a few days, my jaw completely locked-closed and I was unable to eat food and I couldn't talk properly. I went to the dental hospital and they immediately rushed me to hospital. I hadn't a clue what was happening to me.

The day my life changed forever

When it was suggested that I write a blog, I thought it was going to be quite easy. I'm known for being a bit of a chatterbox to say the least and assumed it would be no different but to my surprise, it's been a struggle. I have been thinking about my blog a lot. I know in my heart that I want to tell my story because it is good for me and hopefully other people might find it interesting and inspiring. But where do I begin?  I suppose at the beginning...
I have suffered terrible physical pain and struggled with life for so many years now. I have experienced fear, frustration and a future which looked to be filled with  gloom, doom and no hope. These experiences have come from a incident that happened twenty-five years ago when a bus nearly hit me, this changed my life forever. Since then my life has been a nightmare up until this point.
This is what happened that day:
A bus started to pulled out in front of me as I was riding down a hill, on my way to work.  I came off  my motorbike on the right hand side as I tried avoid crashing into it and  hit the ground hard. I continued to rolling towards the bus wheel and by some miracle, I stopped rolling before the bus ran over me. I was inches away from death. It  was a terrifying experience. I counted my blessings that I stopped and amazingly I got up.The bus driver was very concerned about my well being but apart from feeling very shaken and disoriented, at that point I seemed to be OK. The bike was fine and I carried on into work. Later that day I started to feel not so good and the impacted of hitting the ground started to kick-in as with any accident. Nothing too unusual but the following weeks were to prove to be very different...

Today I have managed to add my photo to my blog...yippee. Something that I have never done before. Designing my page and thinking about what I'm going to write takes some working out. I do have something unusual to talk about, which my friends say I should share and hopefully some people might find it interesting too. My blog is the beginning of a new chapter in my life and a exciting journey for me. When the time is right I will talk about it.
One of my daily morning routines is to read something positive.

My first blog posting ever !!

What a changing world we live in!! My name is Amanda and I am now entering the world of technology. Sending letters through the post to family and friends seems to be a dying age and now emails, a faster system, is replacing it. Amazed by how instantly it works and how easy it is to understand, I have now progressed to  another level of technology... blogging !! The wonders of evolution. What also comes to mind is... Have I got anything interesting to say and would it benefit others? I will keep you posted :-)
