Today I am studying Matthew 5:9
"Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God".
What is a peacemaker? That's a big question! We all have our own ideas of what 'peace' means. It could be - bring an end to wars or making peace with someone who we have had a disagreement with.. Listening to people in need and comforting them. Whatever our ideas are, a peacemaker is someone who reconciles, mediates and loves to brings harmony into any situation.
The ultimate peacemaker is Jesus, He came to reconcile man to God. To rid the world of war, greed, hatred and so much more. God could not tolerate sin and so sent Jesus to pay the price by cruel crucifixion, to save us and reconcile us to Himself.
Unfortunately, still today there are wars and people suffering, should we give up and accept that this is how it is and not think about it? Or as peacemakers, we must pray God's peace to all the people that are spreading the good news.
Forgive people when they make the wrong chooses.
Glorious and Mighty Lord,
make me a channel of your peace.
